What is your favorite Boston City Singers Memory?

My favorite Boston City Singers’ memory was introducing the choir and performing my first solo during our tour to Newfoundland, Canada during one of the Festival 500 concerts. I had to audition for this solo in an arena in front of at least 15 other choirs  made up of singers of all ages. I gained the confidence to take this chance because of my supportive peers. I will never forget that moment.

What is your favorite song performed with Boston City Singers and why?

My favorite piece was called, “A City Called Heaven.” The arrangement was incredibly powerful and beautiful. One of my favorite voices, lead singer and fellow choir mate Janiece Dottin, always stole the audience’s hearts. I’m glad to hear that this song has recently resurfaced.

How has Boston City Singers influenced your professional career?

Music has always been my biggest passion and due to great moments with Boston City Singers – such as performing for President Obama, touring around South Africa and arranging music for our smaller choruses. I saw how much you can connect with people around the world through music. It is one of the reasons I chose a career in music and studied at the Berklee College of Music. I can’t wait to give back to this amazing organization that has lifted me up and done so much for me.
